Overall an amazing look back on the time of the 'nobel' crusaders. A wicked new historical look at the role of the lone assassian. Let's break it down.
First off the control scheme was very simplistic, not do be taken as a bad thing, the simplicty will have you Free-running, Citizen-Saving and Lord-Killing in no time at all. Another fine quality, was the robustness of the controls, not once have I make a bad dicision, falling off a tall building. due to the lacking of gusto in controls. Very Well Done Ubisoft!!
Now the story lends it self to a more cinematic expierence, and the graphics do provide the support needed to hold up the story. Some of the Counter-kills are amongst the most brutal/cinematic things I've seen. Not to forget some of the amazling rendered skylines. And ofcourse the breath taking moments of which you spend atop one of the city's many viewpoints are not to be forgotten either.
As far as sound or music goes nothing really stood out, save the heavy sound of you hidden blade striking unaware's neck. But besides that one point, not noticeably bad, but not memorably amazing.
The story is that of a time much ingnored in the video game industry. And this time-warp brings a much needed relief from WW2. The tale seems well fleshed out, and despite the Metriod style opening alltogether a wonderful expierence.
The Fun and Replay Value however have areas to be reconsidered, as the forumla of town clearing does get very monotonous. In the end I had trouble diciding what was more annoying; Having to listen to the cry of "YOU DARE STEAL IN MY PRESENCE" a million times or actually having to go save these people after which everyone would accuse me of murder, making my efforts seem wasted.
Great cinematic story and a solid control system, are dragged to their knees by the simply lack of varity, however this does not stop this from being a game worth atleast borrowing from a friend.
